Deborah “Debbie” Sahlin, DNP, FNP-C

Debbie Sahlin is a Family Nurse Practitioner, healthcare leader, and researcher focused on advancing accessible, high-quality primary care across the lifespan. She serves as the Founder and CEO of Ryan’s Place Health Services and the Founder of Ryan’s Place Foundation, organizations dedicated to integrated clinical care, care coordination, and community-based supports to improve health outcomes for individuals and families across Maryland.

With more than 16 years of leadership in nonprofit and community health initiatives, Debbie’s work centers on developing scalable, patient-centered healthcare models that address complex medical needs, reduce barriers to care, and support continuity across life stages.

She is actively engaged in healthcare transition research at the Kennedy Krieger Institute, with a particular emphasis on improving the transition from pediatric to adult care for youth with cerebral palsy and other childhood-onset conditions. Her research and quality improvement efforts aim to strengthen care coordination, promote self-management, and improve long-term health outcomes for individuals with disabilities.

Debbie holds a Doctor of Nursing Practice from the University of Maryland, Baltimore, and is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Maryland, Baltimore, and also holds a Bachelor of Science in Business and Management from the University of Maryland, College Park.

Laura Money, PT

With more than 30 years of experience, Laura Money is a dedicated physical therapist committed to supporting children and young adults with disabilities. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy from the University of Maryland, Baltimore, School of Medicine, and has spent much of her career serving students at Montgomery County Public Schools. Through direct treatment, consultation, and training, Laura has helped students improve mobility, access their learning environments, and build independence at school and beyond.

Beyond her work in the school system, Laura coordinates the Durable Medical Equipment (DME) Clinic at Ryan’s Place Foundation, where she leads efforts to refurbish and redistribute essential mobility equipment to individuals and families across Maryland, Virginia, and Washington, DC. Her advocacy and hands-on leadership have helped countless families access the equipment they need to participate more fully in daily life.

Laura is also deeply committed to education and mentorship. She regularly trains and mentors physical therapy students from institutions including Drexel University, George Washington University, Marymount University, University of Maryland, and Shenandoah University. She also presents at professional conferences and contributes to educational materials focused on pediatric physical therapy, mobility, and access.
